Still think ill be having issues wth the TDI and rear drum brakes for MOT re-test tomorrow (it only failed on rear brake im-balance), yes i understand there not bedded in, ive put brand new rear axle load valve on as old one was seriously crusty, new shoes / brake cylinders on the rear and adjusted the shoes so they are slightly touching the drum, but i get the old dear to sit in the car with the car jacked up, brake pedal down and i can still spin them, yes tight but they should be impossible to spin, handbrake i cant spin the rear wheels to save my life! im guessing its a bedding in process to the rear drums thats the issue of me still spinning rear wheels?? brake pedal firm and not spongy as ive bled it a lot. Not an expert with these but ive done my old mk3 fiesta and focus drums with no issues
  2. typical re-newed all steering arms and track rod ends, also a brand new subframe, three weeks later the steering rack starts ****ing out oil into the arm passenger arm, gaitor! doing this soon, whats some tips so i can keep it as straight as possible as ive had all the tracking done! thinking unbolt the arms with my 32mm spanner and keep them bolted into the hubs, connect back up to recon rack and should be near dead on?

Is there anyone local to west wickham / bromley in kent who does mobile welding? 3x floorpan sections needed to go in the golf mk3, ive done the prep and prepped the floorpans from donor cars to go in mine, just some trimming needed and small infill on one pan as its 2cm too short. MOT is coming up soon.

Worth repairing or not? has rot in the usual places which we can fix (surprisingly sills are not bad) as i have a donor mk3 golf shell in the garage from my vr6 restoration, ive got a friend who can weld pretty neat, but its time and money on a daily driver that to be fair has been very good in the last year! but whats put me off is the rust around the rear axle mounting point on the passenger side when flappy disking all the underseal off with the angle grinder. axles are easy to drop down but im guessing its spread like wildfire under there!

  13. i havent dude! idles fine! the sensor on the boost pipe to the top left of the pas bottle has a snapped wire which ill fix.

What would cause a mk3 tdi AHU to not be so great on fuel? ive cleaned the sender connection on the tank and still the same, was thinking maybe a sticky sender in the tank or actually something causing it to drink diesel? injectors seem fine and not leaking. it seems much worse than my previous 1Z tdi mk3 golf, but its much quicker than my old 1Z!
  15. just done the other sensor on the side of the head and still coming on at 3k, time to remove the sump!
