Mk1 golf abf gear change

Recommended Posts

Hi guys me again.

Have found another issue I need some help with.

I put the clutch all the way down and the gears seem to crunch on the way in.

Anyone have any ideas?

Do I just need to adjust the clutch cable or something?

Thanks in advance

D

Had a little go but still no joy. I can't figure it out. The gears grind on the way in. Anyone out there have any pointers. I have the cable change box.

All help gladly received.

Cables tend to wear on these setups, might be worth a new one, also check the condition of the shift levers and cable ends on top of the box, although I'd say they are less likely.

Which one did you go for? People used to use 1.3 carb ones back in the day?

Yep. That's the one I  got.

The bite point is really high but it seems you have to push the clutch right to the floor to get it in gear.

I'm really confused. Can anyone out there in dub land help me?
