Well it all started 2 years ago when my track spec saxo was teeboned by an old coffin dodger,

which in a way was a blessing in disguise as I had just found out the other half was expecting, so I set off in search of a black or silver mk4 1.8T had to be 3door and have leather recaros, rest of the spec wasn't an issue, after 3 or 4 weeks of driving round in the old citreon c15 works van, I was offered this on the forum, so we went down to london to take a look and did the deal there and then, No more citroen van  and id now got myself this,

Now with the little one due I didnt get to do anything else until 12ish months ago because I was so skint it was untrue, you don't realise how much stuff a baby needs until you have your own
so 12ish months ago the mods started, my pay went up quite abit so I had some extra funds to play with, so 1st up was a remap, Chipped UK over in bromsgrove, can't recommend them enough, we were now running 195-200ish on the AGU lump, then a used Carbonio came up over on uk-mkivs so I snapped that up too, and thats how the engine has stayed ever since,
Now running a remap'd 1.8T on the standard brakes was pretty lairy at times so I rang round a few breakers and secured myself a 312mm front set up for the grand sum of £40 delivered RESULT.
By this time I was getting quite bored of feeling like I was in a 4x4 so I set out the search for a good drop, I ended up with a set of kw v1's which we went straight to the bump stops and bolted them on......perfect for what I wanted

Now as you all know one thing leads to another....and another in this case wheels......the 17s just weren't upto the job anymore,
after weeks and weeks of searching for a set of merc alphards with no luck I noticed on ebay what looked to be segins in 18" with a seriously crap picture no indication of widths, and no replys to my questions, but they were only 20 miles away, I watched these for 4 days trying to decide wether to bid or not, what if they are 17s, what if they are absolutely kerbed to hell hence the dodgy pictures, what if they are 8" all round, so with 2 mins to go I dropped a bid on, and won £230 for a set of what I hoped would be good condition Segins....well I picked them up that weekend, and to my suprise they were 18s, they had 9" rears and they weren't in all that bad condition, over the next couple of months I got the adaptors from G werks, and had the tyres put on, the time had come to bolt them onto the car would they fit with the suspension where it was would I have to raise it up abit
Thankfully it all came togther pretty well with the end result looking like this,

Then with Edition38 looming I needed the next stage, so being as I was off to spain I left the car in the care of my bodyshop, Rehman & Sons in blackheath Birmingham, I couldn't be more happy with the results he got on the front end, smoothed rubstrip, debadged grill, with infills welded to bumper and bonnet, votex splitter repaired, and complete front end respray. while I added some black headlights with HID conversion before dropping it off

Inters came and went, end of the seasons here so time to get a few more bits and bobs together ready for next year, US rear lights, Segins were sent over to cecil at rainbow polishing, while I ordered some carbon centre caps for there return, replace the broken interior handle on the drivers door with a genuine anni item to ti in with the rest of the silver trim inside, I then started bolting the bits back on, only to receive a call from my best mate telling me he showed pics of the car to the guys at max power, and if I want it i'm on the stand at snetterton that weekend, mad rush to get everything back on the car followed, but friday night I was packed and ready to go

Right now seasons over so I'll put it away in the garage at work until I can get it back in the one at home...then I get a call on the morning of the mids mega meet in cov, HUGE meet tonight make sure you're there.......so thought why not nothing better to do, never know might be good, well to say good would be an understatement, there was some eriously good cars there, then it's award time....best golf.. LOW VR.. well deserved awesome car....few more awards then comes Show n shine....Black mk4 on segins....start looking around to see who's car it is, no one is moving....Oh S*it thats me
finally last weekend the wheels were taken off back onto the original 17s for winter, while the bodyshop fund rises for the next installment of bodywork, then browsing ebay last week I see a set of Segins 18" staggered fitment, pretty much the same condition as the last set but with a full set of merc fitment dunlop sp9000 with 7mm all round, well you guessed it I bought them picked them up thursday night, tyres stripped off on friday with the 9s dropped at rainbow yesterday,
So next year were rocking 9s all round  , while the 17s are coming back off next weekend, i've got a set of 8s sataround doing nothing.....new winter wheels here we come ^_^
That pretty much sums up the last 2 years of the car, now I've just got to keep remembering to update it
