Are these mk1 or mk1 cabriolet rear seats?

06 September 2016 - 05:01 PM

Sold to me as mk1 Scirocco Storm seats - which they definitely aren't. The upright is reinforced at the rear with a metal surround and they have these mountings

Just picked up a standard 2wd Roadster on Tuesday and then saw this (broken) 225 Coupe on the TT Forum - I think the remap was too much for it and it cracked the head.

If anyone has a BAM lying around they don't want...

Painting sections on powder coated alloys

07 December 2015 - 04:25 PM

Long story short, I have a set of these -

that can't be refurbed to the factory finish, i.e. black and diamond cut - as the outer rims may not be thick enough to withstand being diamond cut again.

My thoughts are to get them done in standard silver powdercoat and then paint the centres in. I'm assuming with the right prep work the paint should stick OK?

So they'll look like this after refurb

And then just paint the centre star in.

Or, should I go for black powdercoat and then paint the surround in silver?
