The below pictures show the engine coming together nicely after all the machining, balancing and reboring...

The three main items left to buy to get it running amongst many other things are :

  • OMEX 400 ECU
  • Race Technology Dash 2
  • LSD for gearbox rebuild

However the car is now going in for a fully respray AGAIN because it is not up to my quality standards.

This is disappointing as it has set us back a number of weeks but it must be perfect.

Current state below...

One can't help but wonder if there will be a dedicated "REV IT" and "WHEEL SPIN" area. I sincerely hope so! 👌

Cars looks unreal! LOVE it!

One thing, where did you get that bonnet catch?! I've been after a new one for ages!

Thanks :)

Cheers buddy, engine is next now (see pictures below)

The bonnet catch is a MK2 Golf as they are the same fitment, you'll need to update the cable swell mind.

Hope this helps,

Just awesome Matt, it's gonna be one of the best when it's complete I have no doubt. You'll make it so nice though that you won't want to drive it.

Do the Atspeed bodies need an aftermarket ECU to map up on the ABF? I've been looking at the Dbilas kit for my ABF (over Harv's place at the moment!) and to keep costs down they apparently work with all the stock Digi 3.2 sensors and that.

Keep the pics coming man, it's gonna be amazing.

Cheers Jimmy! It's getting there slowly now, to answer you question the bodies can run off a standard ECU however to achieve the full potential of all the "bolt ons" i'm going to run the engine on an Omex 600 series. This engine isn't far away from being fully built and ready for the car now i'll keep you posted  :)
